I was born in Banyuwangi, East Java on November 4, 1961. I completed my elementary until high school studies in Banyuwangi. In 1980, I continued her college studies at the Department of Biology, Faculty of Mathematics and Natural Sciences (FMIPA), University of Indonesia in Jakarta and obtained a Bachelor of Biology in 1985. I continued my postgraduate education at the Faculty of Biology, Bogor Agricultural University (IPB) by taking a Zoology Study Concentration and then passed it in 2008 as a Master of Biology.

From 1986 to 1989 I became a teacher at SMA Sandikta, one of the private high schools in Bekasi, West Java. In 1989 I began to work at the Faculty of Biology at the National University as a lecturer and since 2009 until now I have been a permanent lecturer at the Faculty of Health Sciences at the National University. In addition, I also serve as Head of the National University Research and Community Service Bureau.
